Our Services

Three pillars of individualised care.

Care shaped around the person — what you need to recover from, what you need to be able to do, and how to keep doing it independently. Physiotherapy, aquatics, and performance, delivered one to one from the Aquatic Center Complex in Wildey, with short wait times and unhurried sessions.

Physiotherapy.

Rehabilitation exercise at POPS

Our core pillar. Treatment for athletes, post-surgical patients, and adults working through injury, chronic pain, or extended time away from movement — built around what you need to be able to do, and when. Care is staged: tissue healing, mobility, strength, sport- or life-specific load, and a clear handoff into independent training where appropriate.

It spans sports and orthopaedic rehab, manual therapy, pelvic-health physiotherapy, neurological rehabilitation, pre- and post-operative care, and cardiopulmonary work — with dry needling and cupping used where indicated. Every patient sees the same clinician through their course of care wherever possible, and sessions are not rushed.

What this includes
  • Rehabilitation
  • Pelvic Health
  • Sports Coverage

Aquatics.

Aquatic therapy in the pool at the Aquatic Center Complex

Water reduces gravitational load on healing tissue. For patients with weight-bearing restrictions after surgery, the pool is often the first place meaningful movement is possible — weeks before the same work could be attempted on land. It also gives three-dimensional, accommodating resistance and steady pressure that helps with inflammation, circulation, and chronic pain.

Alongside one-to-one hydrotherapy, our aquatic classes — AquaAerobics and AquaNatal — bring the same benefits in a small-group setting. All aquatic work is supervised, in the pool at the Aquatic Center Complex in Wildey.

What this includes
  • Hydrotherapy
  • AquaAerobics
  • AquaNatal
Common indications
  • Post-operative knee, hip, and shoulder recovery
  • Osteoarthritis of weight-bearing joints
  • Lumbar disc pathology and chronic back pain
  • Pregnancy-related musculoskeletal pain
  • Fibromyalgia and chronic pain syndromes
Typical timeline

Aquatic work begins as early as clinical clearance allows. Courses commonly run 6 to 12 weeks, tapering as land tolerance improves. Classes run year-round — see Programmes for schedules and pricing.

Performance.

The POPS performance and rehabilitation studio

Where rehabilitation meets performance. Our Performance Lab puts numbers behind how you move — VALD ForceDecks force-plate testing, dynamometry, and gait & running analysis — to surface asymmetries, guide return-to-sport decisions, and track progress objectively. This is Marita's specialty; she holds a Master's in Sports and Biomechanical Medicine from Dundee.

Around the lab sits the rest of the performance offering: therapeutic and sports massage, assisted stretch therapy, strength & conditioning, Mat Pilates, and the Recovery Room — Normatec compression, Hyperice guns, and a recovery chair, by advance booking.

What this includes
  • Massage Therapy
  • Stretch Therapy
  • Recovery Room
  • Performance Lab — Force-Plate Testing (VALD ForceDecks)
  • Dynamometry
  • Gait & Running Analysis
  • Strength & Conditioning
  • Mat Pilates
Common indications
  • Return-to-sport readiness and clearance
  • Recurrent injuries with no clear single cause
  • Strength and movement asymmetries
  • Performance plateaus in trained athletes
  • Pre-season screening
Typical timeline

Lab assessments run 60 to 90 minutes with a written report. Massage, stretch, and recovery are booked per session; strength & conditioning and Mat Pilates run as ongoing blocks.
